Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are straight answers to the 12 questions buyers ask most before opening a MicrogreenUSA wholesale account: minimum orders, payment terms and delivery days, shelf life and varieties, and the food safety documentation we provide with every shipment.

Wholesale & Ordering

Getting Started

What is the minimum order to open a wholesale account?

Our minimum for a single restaurant account is 5 lbs per week. Restaurant groups start at 50 lbs per week, regional distributors at 200 lbs per week, and national or export accounts are set up on a contract basis. We don't impose an upfront minimum purchase, just a consistent weekly standing order that you can adjust as your menu changes.

How do I place my first order?

Submit a wholesale application on our website or email sales@microgreenusa.com. Our team will respond within 24 business hours with pricing, variety availability, and a complimentary sample offer for qualifying Southeast USA accounts. New accounts are asked to list three current supplier or trade references on the application so we can set up terms quickly.

Do you offer net-30 payment terms?

Yes, net-30 billing is available for approved wholesale accounts after a standard credit application. New accounts typically start on COD or card-on-file terms and transition to net-30 after 4-6 consistent orders. Regional distributors and other established partners also qualify for volume pricing tiers alongside net-30 terms once the account is in good standing.

Can I change my order week to week?

Yes, with 48 hours' notice. Standing orders are managed weekly and can be adjusted for variety, quantity, or delivery format with a 48-hour change window before your delivery day. That covers swapping varieties for a new menu, scaling up for an event, or moving between clamshells, vacuum-sealed bulk bags and living trays. Custom blends need 72 hours' notice.

What delivery days are available?

Standard delivery days for Southeast USA accounts are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. For high-volume accounts, additional days may be available. National and export accounts are dispatched based on freight schedules, typically Monday-Thursday. National orders travel 1-2 day overnight via FedEx Custom Critical, and export orders leave through our Miami hub freight partners.
Product Questions

Varieties & Shelf Life

How long do microgreens last after delivery?

Most of our varieties maintain quality for 7-10 days post-harvest under proper refrigeration (34-38°F). Pea tendrils have the longest shelf life at 10-12 days. Basil is the most delicate at 5-7 days. Proper storage, meaning sealed packaging, consistent cold and no ethylene exposure, maximizes this window. Because product is cold within 45 minutes of cutting, shipments typically arrive with 5-10 days of shelf life remaining.

How many varieties do you carry?

We maintain 40+ varieties in regular rotation, and 20 of them are profiled in our online catalog with flavor notes and specs. Not all are available at all times: some are seasonal, and some are grown to specific contract volumes. Our wholesale team provides a current availability calendar to all active accounts so you can plan menus around what is in production.

Are your microgreens certified organic?

Our production uses 100% certified organic seed and no pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic nutrients of any kind. We are not currently USDA certified organic and are pursuing formal organic certification, so contact us for the current status. We can provide full documentation of all inputs used, including seed lot records, for your purchasing or compliance file.

Can I order custom mixes?

Yes. We offer custom blend mixes for established wholesale accounts at 10 lbs/week minimum per blend. Common mixes include our Sushi Mix (sunflower, radish, pea), Brassica Pack, and Spicy Blend (mustard, arugula, radish). Custom blends require 72-hour advance notice, and any blend can be packed in clamshells, vacuum-sealed bulk bags or as part of a regular standing order.
Food Safety

Compliance & Documentation

Are you FSMA compliant?

Yes. We operate a fully documented FSMA Produce Safety Rule compliant food safety program. Our written Food Safety Plan, environmental monitoring records, and lot traceability documentation are available to wholesale accounts upon request. Every production batch carries a lot number traceable from incoming seed to final delivery, and we run a mock recall exercise every year.

Can I get a Certificate of Analysis with each order?

Yes. COA per delivery is available for all wholesale accounts. The COA documents lot number, harvest date, product specification, and relevant environmental monitoring data. Contact your account manager to set up automatic COA delivery. The COA can be issued in our standard format or customized to match your own procurement requirements.

Do you conduct third-party testing?

Yes. We conduct periodic third-party microbiological testing on finished product including testing for E. coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes, and Salmonella spp. Results are available to wholesale accounts upon request. Testing sits alongside our environmental swab program across growing, harvest and packing areas and our quarterly testing of source water.
